Spock is basically the entire Trek fandom and Jim is some poor unsuspecting outsider that just accidentally said “Star Trak, the one with the light sabers?”

Things to consider in Mass Effect

An Asari becomes a Matron at around age 350. It’s around this age that Asari start settling down and having children. In an Asari lifetime, we can call this a ‘generation’. A single Asari, however, can live to be 1000+ years old.

Since the last reaper harvest, there have been a little over 140 generations of Asari, and only 50 possible full life cycles.

That means only 140 generations, the Asari have evolved from a ‘primitive’ race in Javik’s cycle into the dominant race of the galaxy (I say evolve in both correct genetic terminology and technologically). True, the Protheans did secretly advance their civilization and used Thessia’s natural Eezo to create the first Asari biotics, BUT STILL.

I wish I had exact dates for first contact between Asari and the other races of the galaxy. Imagine how few mutations could’ve occurred if the Asari spent the majority of the new cycle alone in the galaxy? If the next species to discover space flight didn’t arrive until 25000, then only 70 generations of Asari would’ve passed; their genetic code untouched by other species.

… I wonder if the Asari discovered before they encountered new species that they could reproduce with anyone and create another Asari, or if it was just a “WELL THEN” kind of realization. I’m guessing the former, but then that leaves the question: how did they know that would be the case?
